Custom Cams offers a full service camshaft inspection and quality control department. We utilize the
latest in cylindrical coordinate measurement machine (CCMM) technology in the Adcole 911-36 NT. The Ad
cole 911-36 NT allows measurements of camshafts up to 36” in length with an accuracy of 0.0001 micron and
0.001 degree of resolution. It is this resolution and accuracy along with state of the art software that
facilitates industry leading “Chatter Analysis” to be performed. Along with chatter analysis, we are
capable of measuring surface finish via a Mitutoyo Surftest.
A Brown & Sharpe CMM is used in the manufacturing of cam spools as well as fixtures. This allows us to
manufacture our cam spools and cores to the highest degree of accuracy and allows for an accurate way
to ensure part completion to the print. Each part is fully inspected before heat-treat and after to
measure growth characteristics. |
